At LogicU, we teach people and organizations to create artifacts of durable value™.

A rapidly growing community is working with Semantic Web concepts and tools to tackle the most difficult challenges in information management.  There are signs that this wave of technology will facilitate a new era of knowledge-based collaboration and decision support, unhindered by current application and enterprise boundaries. However, experienced IT professionals know that there are many important questions to be answered before an organization jumps into this new technical area, for example:

  • What does this stuff really do?  What is new and/or important here?  Has someone invented another pet robot wafflemaker, or is this community truly converging on a new way for people and computers to organize, share, and integrate information?
  • Is this technology mature enough for our organization to invest in applying it?  Are the standards stable?  Are the implementations here to stay?
  • What is the range of tools currently available?  What can we do now, inexpensively, and what capabilities are still on the costly horizon?
  • How can these tools be applied to new Web, EII, EAI and BPM projects?  Is there an opportunity for dramatic lifecycle streamlining?
  • What are the implications of semantic technology for business intelligence, data mining and decision support?
  • Can we incrementally increase the power and quality of our existing software and information resources? If so, how do we get started, safely and cost-effectively?

LogicU training classes provide the answers to these and many more intriguing questions. We offer results-oriented, cost-effective, intensive training in powerful semantic technology skills, using internet standards and open source software. We teach all students to knowledge-enable the XML and web applications they are already working with, by using free knowledge-editing tools like Protege and SWOOP. We also teach programmers how to extend their Java and/or .NET applications to take advantage of ontology processing (using numerous declarative and imperative techniques).

Our lessons are all in-person, hands-on, intensive tutorials taught by industry veterans. The classes are small and are held at convenient locations around North America. We can also provide your organization with Scrutable consulting and VAR services to ensure your project's success! Students from various professions have attended our classes, e.g. business and technology leaders, programmers, medical professionals. Everyone is welcome. We have standard classes and we also provide customized training engagements tailored for your organization, please contact us for details.
